HS 0220+0603 is a nova-like cataclysmic variable star of the SW Sextantis subtype. It is a close binary system where a white dwarf accretes material from a donor star via an accretion disk. The system shows eclipses and typical SW Sex features such as phase-shifted emission lines, high-velocity accretion streams, and strong Hα and He II line components. The orbital period is about 3.58 hours. The system also exhibits both quiescent and active states, possibly due to changes in the accretion regime or magnetic activity. With its eclipsing geometry and strong spectral features, HS 0220+0603 is an important system for understanding the behavior and evolution of SW Sextantis stars.
